Corridor studies are undertaken to identify the combination of transportation improvements that would be most impactful in moving people and goods along travel corridors. Balancing local land access needs and arterial traffic flow is always a focus of corridor studies. From conceptual planning to identifying cost effective improvement needs to developing comprehensive and potentially unconventional traffic flow alternative configurations, this type of planning results in solutions that combine tried and true principles with ‘thinking outside the box’.
